Current MSME Classification in India
The revised composite classification uses both investment in plant and machinery/equipment and annual turnover. The current thresholds apply from 1 April 2025.
| Category | Investment in Plant & Machinery / Equipment | Annual Turnover |
|---|---|---|
| Micro | Not more than ₹2.5 crore | Not more than ₹10 crore |
| Small | Not more than ₹25 crore | Not more than ₹100 crore |
| Medium | Not more than ₹125 crore | Not more than ₹500 crore |
These are the revised MSME classification thresholds applicable from 1 April 2025 under the Ministry of MSME’s revised criteria. Classification and lending eligibility are separate matters and depend on the applicable rules and lender requirements.
